says Chief Operating Officer Nick Hoare

etc.venues, the award winning conference, training and event venue specialists, will be investing a further £20m in new space globally in 2020, adding 3 more venues to its portfolio. A further £1m will be spent on developing its online meeting technology.

This expansion will maintain the tremendous momentum it generated during a successful year in 2019 when it expanded globally. The company invested £15m, taking on two leases totalling 75,000 sq.ft in New York, and adding 20 per cent more capacity in the UK increasing its venue space by 62,000sq.ft. With this addition of 37 new meeting rooms in the UK, it now has 278 meeting rooms, more than the major hotel chains, in London.

This ongoing transformation was recognised in 2019 when Managing Director Alastair Stewart won the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award for London and the South East.

By the end of 2020 its portfolio will feature 20 venues in London, Birmingham, Manchester and New York offering more than 300 meetings rooms and over 500,000 sq.ft of dedicated meeting and event space.

Nick Hoare, Chief Operating Officer of etc.venues said: “2019 was a remarkably successful year for the company.

“We increased our revenues by 20 per cent, successfully delivered 19,000 events for an ever-growing list of clients including 84 per cent of the FTSE 100, and hosted 965,000 delegates.

“The year ahead is very exciting. We’re investing a record £20m plus in development, and with more venues and rooms to offer, we’re expecting to host more than 1 million delegates at 20,000 plus events in 2020.

“2020 is going to be a year of outstanding landmark achievements for etc.venues.”
