Following the recent C&IT Recovery Forum hosted at etc.venues, Freya Spath, Events Manager at C&IT, explains what she thinks it means to be ‘back to live’.

“Great to be back running the C&IT Recovery Forum”, this was the LIVE first event Freya had run in over 12 months and one of the first she had been at in-person.

“Meeting people face-to-face, its really valuable, really hard to replicate virtually, actually being able to meet people again has been something we have really enjoyed and enjoyed planning as well.”

Asked to give a sense of the event Freya described “it feels really buzzy, the energy is really great, people are able to have lunch and that informal networking has been so clearly missed. Everybody is really pleased to be back.”

The C&IT Awards is the next live event on the 17th September for the team and Freya is looking forward to this, boosted by the confidence of running their first live event, “We are going back to the full black tie dinner, full networking and can’t wait to celebrate with everybody.”

Finally, we asked Freya what makes face-to-face so special. Her answer ”It is authentic, you can gauge a much better reaction from people, it feels much more real to have a conversation, and the relationships that are made are stronger and longer lasting as a result”.
